I wish this book had been more compelling, since I think today‘s women owe a debt to the suffragists of the Gilded Age. There were multiple suffrage organizations and a lot of catty infighting. Honestly, women got the vote in spite of their behavior rather than because of it! Plus, it read like a doctoral dissertation, and could have been organized differently for more clarity. It was just a snoozer for me.
