ncsufoxes As a mom of Autistic child I see you & get you. Our Autistic son is almost 16. He‘s made our life more interesting. He‘s funny, smart, caring, compassionate, full of animal facts. Our 2 other kids have ADHD. RFK can suck a lemon. This man has no business anywhere near the department of health & human services . I worry about the long term damage that will be done to the Autism community. Luckily we‘re resilient & fierce advocates. 1mo

Centique I saw a news reel with that dreadful man making that comment and i thought both, how incredibly stupid you are old man, and also how incredibly hurtful. News From Nowhere | Liverpool, United Kingdom (Bookstore)

We went to Liverpool today to attend a protest in support of Trans Rights, so an after-protest visit to News From Nowhere was mandatory. I bought a book on the politics of mental health and a mug with a quote from living legend Kathy Burke:
"I love being Woke. It's much nicer than being an ignorant fucking twat." No argument from me!
I bought a couple of t-shirts from a shop up the road, too ??‍???‍♀️

250 years ago today, the battle of Lexington and Concord occurred. Wonder what our forefathers would think now? My favorite line from JOHNNY TREMAIN, winner of the 1944 Newbery Medal and about the outbreak of said battle, is from James Otis as he's questioning all of the patriots as to why they were fighting: “We give all we have, lives, property, safety, skill...we fight, we die, for a simple thing. Amiable “Johnny Tremain” is one of those books that I didn‘t fully appreciate until I was an adult. Even as a kid growing up 2 hours from where the Revolution began and with a family history that includes ancestors who enlisted in CT militia regiments. We read it in 4th grade and I hated it. Wonder if it would resonate more in classrooms today? (edited) 2mo

dabbe @Amiable I never read it as a child, but I taught it in 7th grade. Maybe 4th grade was a tad to young, because the 7th graders liked it. They needed lots of help to get through it, especially with the vocabulary, but that part I quote above really got to them. I even had everyone stand up at the end of that reading. It was quite moving. 💙♥️💙 2mo

Today I feel spring around the corner- reached 71 today.
