It's thunderstorming out, which is my favorite weather. All I want to do is climb into my bed and read, but I have to grade 😞⛈

Looks like it's about to rain. ☹️ I'm scared of lightning after meeting several strike survivors with serious medical problems. Glad Henry's already been out. Guess I should stop being lazy and close the windows. 🤣🤣

Nearly every day of the past couple weeks, this is what we've dealt with in the city where I live. Don't get me wrong, I love thunderstorms and rain; what I'm not especially fond of are the accompanying tornado warnings. #cruelsummer #junetunz

Photo taken at University of Western Ontario (a.k.a. Western - though when I was growing up it went by UWO, so it's had some rebranding)

LeahBergen Eek! 😬 7y
Zelma Yikes! Tornadoes scare me quite a bit. 7y
Laalaleighh OMG Canada has tornadoes?! 🙀I think of Canada as the land where everything is happy and wonderful. 7y

Louise Tornadoes in ON?! Oh, my! 7y
drokka @Laalaleighh @louise The tornadoes we get around here aren't anywhere near the size of those out in the Western provinces or down in Tornado Alley or the Southern states in the US. The threat of them is mostly because of the Great Lakes, and we don't get them in the urban centres very often because there's a lot farmland around. The further north one goes, the less one hears about them. 7y
Laalaleighh Oh that makes me feel better. I'm originally from MS and one of my goals in life is to find a land with no tornadoes. They terrify me! 7y
CouronneDhiver I think you and I and @Jenshootsweddings may live in close proximity to one another... 😎 @drokka 7y
drokka @CouronneDhiver There are at least 7 of us in and around the London area. Six of us met up with each other last week and had a fun couple of hours together. We're thinking of doing another one in the summer, want us to include you in the planning? 7y
Suet624 Tornados scare me. 😳😳😳 7y
drokka @Suet624 They don't really give me the warm and fuzzies either. 7y
Andrea4 Woo for southern ontarians! 7y
CouronneDhiver Sure! @drokka My work schedule is kinda crazy but let me know: d.y.goodwin at outlook dot com (edited) 7y
Cinfhen I think one of those beauties is what caused havoc on my recent flight😞I can't believe you deal with them all the time 😬 7y
drokka @Cinfhen We mostly deal with the threat of them all the time. Actually, that's not true. This year, so far, we've had more warnings and watches than I can remember ever having in an entire summer. None have materialized for any real length of time. When they do, often the just pop down the right back up. I don't mean to downplay the danger, we prepare, but also understand the alerts are precautionary. 7y
drokka @CouronneDhiver Last time we just organized through Litsy, but I'll keep your email handy in case that changes. 🙂 7y
