Beautiful story, each chapter is about another woman who lives in the village.
Spans much of the 20th century and has a very useful family tree!

I'm really starting to experience quarantine fatigue. I miss life on the outside so to speak but I'm grateful that I'm able to travel my bookshelves. I bought this one many years ago at Shakespeare & Co when they still had a downtown location in NYC. Naturally I still need to read it.
This was a very interesting style of book. Each chapter is named a year and focuses on one person from the village. They all tie nicely together to give us the story of the inhabitants of a small Austrian village beginning before WWII and through the 70‘s. A new setting for me and a highly enjoyable read!
