Took #hyggehourreadathon outside this afternoon. Beautiful fall day for our walk. Rereading an old favorite despite the pile of books I‘m currently in the middle of.

1. Any scenario is great but a quiet comfy space is always good.
2. I just borrowed a nice stack from the library with two books I‘ve been looking forward to. All the Colors of the Dark and the tagged title.
Sorry I‘m late but thanks for the tag! @Sace
With all my catch up posting last night I almost forgot #huggehourreadathon I got the Thanksgiving decorations up, made a pot roast for Sunday family dinner and we tried out a new card game. I was so tired that when all was said and done I maybe read 3 pages in this months book club pick.
October #wrapup #spookoween #31by31 #witchathon
Had so much during Litsy spooky time with all the marathons. I read 4 books, one of them was witchy, 2 comics, 1 children‘s picture book, and 1 middle grade fiction with over 32 hours of reading time for the month. Thank you to all the wonderful Littens for hosting these events @TEArificbooks @TheSpineView @Catsandbooks
November #bookspin #childrensclassicread2024
I‘ve been crap at reading my bookspin picks this year but every month I have the best intentions!
#spookoween #31by31
October was an incredibly busy month but so happy to complete my final read of the month. I loved the first half of the book, so sinister and creepy but the last half dragged on… I finished early ahead of Dracula Daily. Couldn‘t resist.
#spookoween #31by31
Can‘t believe I waited so long to read this one, I really enjoyed it and was fascinated by all the research the author put into this on the suspect, the fire that consumed Central Library in Los Angeles, libraries and librarians. If you love books and libraries you will love this one. Also, made my goal of reading 31 hours this month!
#31by31 #spookoween #serieslove2024
For me Saga never gets old and I look forward to each and every issue. I don‘t like these later issues as much as the earlier ones but still a good read. Loved the flashback to Alana‘s teen years as Hazel and Squire navigate their teen years.
#spookoweeen #31by31
Inching closer to my 31 hour goal. Enjoyed this spooky read. Loved the illustrations.
#spookoween #31by31 #witchathon
Finally, first witchy book completed. This one took me a long time to get through as I found it to be slow. It was cute, cozy and had fun characters but it took too long for the story to get going.
#spookoween #NDBuddyread #serieslove2024 #31by31
A little late finishing this one for the buddy read. This installment felt light on danger and suspense but had plenty of car accidents! I‘ve enjoyed my time getting to know Nancy and the gang but this will be my last book in the series. I promised myself to do one year of books and goal completed. Thank you so much for hosting @Librarybelle I‘ve really enjoyed our discussions.
#hyggehourreadathon
Having a hygge kind of day as this evening I hope to watch the Dodgers move on to the World Series. Spending cozy time with my pup, trying out the viral Dubai pistachio chocolate bar, doing paint by sticker (so addictive!) and as always catching up on my books with a cup of coffee.
I‘m finally getting caught up on my reading and readathons! First book of #spookoween completed and nearly 14 hours reading time towards my monthly goal of 31 hours for #31by31
I give this book a soft pick as it was light on plot and sadly a bit dull. It tells the tale of a young girl that binds books in Oxford England during WW1 as she dreams of attending university.
#MiddleGradeMonday.
Loved this book when I read it. Aven Green was born without arms but she likes to tell people an alligator ate them. Great story about perseverance.
#childrensclassicread2024
How did I miss this one growing up?! Loved it and I adored the quirky and relatable Anastasia. I will definitely be checking out other books in this series and now I‘m in the mood to hang an orangutan poster in my room…
#SeriesLove2024
This book is a selection of short stories that take place in between the numbered books in the series. Daisy and Hazel are my favorite mg detectives and I enjoyed these mini mysteries as well as their tips on how to be a detective.
#HyggeHourReadathon
Decorated the house today, made sausage and peppers and started this cozy read. Even though the weather is still warm it was the perfect fall day.
I almost forgot to post this! Last month I finally completed March #bookspin pick. Mckinlay is a favorite cozy mystery author so it was a no brainer to read this one. I enjoyed it but I especially loved that she brought attention to dyslexia and I applaud her having this book printed in a dyslexia friendly font. I learned a lot in this one.
September #bookspin
Yay a pick I actually completed! Go me. At first I was hesitant to read this, I didn‘t think I would like it enough to stay engaged. I was wrong. From the first few pages I was hooked by the story telling and character development. Yes, a little editing here and there would have been nice but overall I really liked this multilayered story of community, identity, and compassion. Well worth a read.
#NDbuddyread #SeriesLove2024
Lots of noggin knock outs, a rock star, some kidnapping and acrobatic record pirating crooks make up the plot for this Nancy Drew mystery. I always enjoy our discussions makes reading these all the more entertaining.
#WondrousWednesday
1. A reread but so good
2. I always prefer paper but I will dabble on ebooks and audio
3. According to my goodreads shelves I read a lot of middle grade fiction and fiction
#Witchathon tbr
My tbr of witchy books. I know I won‘t even make a dent in this pile but if I can knock one off my stack I‘ll be thrilled.
#Halloweentime
I love this time of year on Litsy, so many fun activities to get involved in. Here are just a couple of readathons I plan on joining.
#middlegrademonday
This was an excellent read. So many great mg books out there covering the history of 9/11
#ForTheLoveofBooks readathon was a success! I accomplished my goals and finished Summer Reading and made progress in both Heaven and Earth and Broken Locket. Thanks for hosting @TheSpineView
August #wrapup
Had a good reading month! My favorite was Nine Stories but that was a reread. I enjoyed The Family and the first half of Morisaki Bookshop but I didn‘t care much for the 2nd half of the book. Also read a couple of cute dog stories.
Spent most my day reading this title for #hyggehourreadathon and #fortheloveofbooks readathon. It really helped me to get a great head start on this months #bookspin pick. This is also September‘s pick for both of my book clubs. Love it when one book checks off many boxes!
I don‘t have much going on this holiday weekend so decided to join #fortheloveofbooks readathon. Hoping to finish Summer reading, get a good start on Heaven and Earth since it‘s my book club pick and start Nancy for #NancyDrewBR
Book two completed in my Salinger reread and once again I liked this better now than when I first read it. I understand the nuances of his stories better. As with all short story collections, some stories are better than others. My favorites are Teddy, A Perfect Day for Bananafish and Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut.
#middlegrademonday
I really enjoyed this graphic novel series.
#hyggehourreadathon
Last family beach day of the summer. Enjoying my book while my sister is in the background searching for shells. Beautiful day of sun and fun and of course we had pizza after.
#serieslove2024
Book two in the One and Only series. This was a fun read but not quite as charming as Ivan. This book features Bob the dog, his back story and how he became friends with Ivan. It‘s a pick for me because I‘m an absolute sucker for a dog story.
#hyggehourreadthon
Celebrated my sisters birthday last night with a family dinner but before hand I went to Baskin Robbins to pick up an ice cream cake. Of course I had to get a scoop of my favorite summer time flavor, baseball nut, and I took a few cool minutes to enjoy #hyggehourreadathon
I recently read a bibliomemoir where the author wrote an essay on Franny Glass which inspired me to reread all of Salinger‘s work for the first time since I read them as a young adult. Book one done. At first I was afraid because I didn‘t want my initial opinion to change but if possible, I love his work even more. The first half, Franny, is the better half but I still enjoyed Zooey even though he‘s a bit of a brat.
It‘s been a minute since I‘ve participated in #hyggehourreadathon so after a busy morning of cooking and hosting a family brunch I decided to take the afternoon off to indulge in a summer time treat, iced coffee, and lose myself in the books that I‘m currently reading.
#NancyDrewBR #SeriesLove2024
My favorite parts in book 10. Nancy gets a new convertible. Was wondering how much more her old car could go through. She‘s apparently got Olympic sized high diving skills and is an expert climber as she frees herself from a cistern without a ladder. Go Nancy!
What I love about #ChildrensClassicRead2024 is being introduced to new books and new authors. Prior to this months pick I had never heard of this title. A wonderful little story about so many ideas but ultimately about being true to yourself.
