A Teacup Collection
A Teacup Collection: Paintings of Porcelain Treasures | Kathleen Morris
4 posts | 1 read | 3 to read
In paintings as pretty as the porcelain they depict, this gift book celebrates one of the finest teacup collections in the world: the 300-piece archive of the Clark Art Institute, which dates back to the eighteenth century and represents coveted designs of the day from Europe and China. Artist Molly Hatch, with exclusive access to this largely unviewed collection, pored over the details of each cup to create this visual treat. Including page after page of paintings of the cups, and led off by introductory essays, this is both an intriguing reflection on the art of collecting and an utterly charming gift for tea drinkers and teacup collectors.

@umbrellagirl A friend from CT introduced me to Harvey & Sons years ago. My favorites are Earl Grey (winter or supreme), Paris (which is hard to find), & chocolate mint (craving a cup now actually). #harneyteagiveaway

Thanks @umbrellagirl for this awesome #harneyteagiveaway ! I‘ve had Paris, early grey, and vanilla comro (?), and enjoyed all of them!

umbrellagirl The vanilla sounds yummy. I haven‘t tried that one. Thanks for entering 💙☕️ 5y

Green Tea w/Peppermint is my morning caffeine of choice. Pair it with the B&N bookclub selection & it‘s the perfect way to start this #readathon

Pickpick

Forgot to post this last night. I love watercolors, and museums, and collections, and minute details. This book has them all! Consisting of a few pages in front covering how the author did this project and info from the Curator, the bulk is illustrations of about 100 teacups from the Clark Art Institute Museum. Soothing to look at and flip through. Made even better with a Georgia peach as a snack!

queerbookreader I may literally die if I don't get my paws on this book 7y
LauraBrook @lemonlime799 @BooksTeasAndBookishThings It's really sweet, and I really like the style of the artist. Was lovely to look through. Hope you like it whenever you get it! 7y
