Tom Gates Is Absolutely Fantastic
Tom Gates Is Absolutely Fantastic | Liz Pichon

Tom Gates, master of excuses, expert doodler, and hilarious story-writer, is going on a class trip! Exciting News! Mr. Fullerman announces that we're going on a class trip! Which should be fun. As long as I don't get stuck in a group with anyone who snores or worse still, with . . . Marcus Meldrew. Delia is already threatening to paint my room funny colours while I'm away. Which is annoying. I just hope the only surprise I have when I get home is the new pet that I hear Mum and Dad talking about. Because I've always wanted a pet! This fifth book in the award-winning Tom Gates series is packed with cheeky antics and hilarious doodles. Plus: a doodle-filled glossary will help Canadian kids make sense of British terms (what IS a caramel wafer, anyway?).

A humorous story about a young, forgetful, imaginative boy who chronicles his day to day life in impressive illustrations. I received this book as an Early Reviewer for LibraryThing and Penguin. The writer is English and uses the term “scoffing” where we would use “scarfing” food. You learn something new.... An engaging book for reluctant readers

Bette Nice pic! 👍😊 6y
Centique How fun! And we say scoffing but I‘d never heard of scarfing, so I learnt something too! 6y

It's the first day of our 2 week mid-year break here in Perth, W.A. We've just arrived home from our teen boys' 🌫☔️ game of Aussie rules football.

Mr 8 here was driving us all nuts with his loud, full-on behaviour. He jumps into our bed to read & get warm. 5 minutes later...this. Day time sleeps are unheard of for him; I guess he must be tired. 😴

Jeg He looks very peaceful. I'm doing the same. Snuggled up in bed with my book. It's the only thing on a day like today. 7y
Centique That's so cute! 7y
Joanne1 Unheard of in my house too. On the odd occasion my little (who is 6) sleeps in the day we pay for it at night. 7y
