Mike the conscientious objector was cleverly realised in so few words. And the descriptions of idyllic rural life are fantastic.
I did some different book buying yesterday, textbooks. I start my first classes toward a bachelor's degree at the end of January. I am both very nervous and excited. I have been looking into going back to school for a while and both my partner and a good friend finally told me to just do it! I have an associate's degree but ended up in a different place and now the only way to get out of the negative job is to go back.
pickI've spent the last hour in a happy, time-warped haze with this lovely little book. It totally transported me to England during the War, and life at Medleycott, and hot summer days. Wonderful, and it's a new favorite book that feels like an old favorite.
