Crossing in Time
Crossing in Time: The First Disaster | D. L. Orton
3 posts | 1 read | 1 reading | 1 to read
If someone took everything you live for, how far would you go to get it back? After watching a friendly stray dog get gunned down for food and then learning that her new-found lover has been murdered, Isabel must find the means (and courage) to survive in a world plummeting into human-induced disaster, a quirky cat and a well-trained hound her only companions. When offered a one-way trip into the past, Iz sacrifices everything for a chance to avert the looming apocalypse--and see her lover one last time. She arrives on a tropical beach, buck naked and mortally wounded, with only a handful of days to live. If her world is to survive, she must find a way to make Diego fall in love with her insecure and arrogant younger self. Easier said than done, as success means losing him to a brainy, ravishing bitch, and that's a heart breaker, save the world or not. This offbeat tale is about falling madly in love when one is too cynical for such things, letting go of pessimism when it's the last lifejacket on a sinking ship, and racing against the clock when one doesn't have the proper footwear. It's a coming-of-age story for old fogeys, a how-to-make-love guide for reluctant celibates, and a laugh-out-loud tragedy with a hopeful twist. True love is the ultimate reward, but a good book will sometimes do.

Bailedbailed

It sounded like such an interesting book and I like time travel but it didn't keep my interest. They tried accelerating parts of the story but left out details I feel like it needed & it was hard to figure out how much time had passed in the story because rarely mentioned it. I don't bail often but I have too many books I want to read to spend time on a book that I'm not enjoying. #dnf #bail #audiobook #scribd #timetravel

I started this as my next #audiobook before I realized it was a series. I wasn't wanting to do another series but I'm too invested now....#scribd #timetravel
