In Some Other Life: A Novel | Jessica Brody
4 posts | 7 read | 5 to read
Three years ago, Kennedy Rhodes secretly made the most important decision of her life. She declined her acceptance to the prestigious Windsor Academy to attend the local public school with her longtime crush, who had finally asked her out. It seems it was the right choiceshe and Austin are still together, and Kennedy is now the editor in chief of the school's award-winning newspaper. But then Kennedy's world is shattered one evening when she walks in on Austin kissing her best friend, and she wonders if maybe her life would have been better if she'd made the other choice. As fate would have it, she's about to find out . . . The very next day, Kennedy falls and hits her head and mysteriously awakes as a student at the Windsor Academy. And not just any student: Kennedy is at the top of her class, she's popular, she has the coolest best friend around, and she's practically a shoo-in for Columbia University. But as she navigates her new world, she starts to wonder whether this alternate version of herself really is as happy as everyone seems to believe. Is it possible this Kennedy is harboring secrets and regrets of her own? A fresh and funny story about how one different choice could change everything, Jessica Brody's In Some Other Life will keep readers guessing, and find them cheering for Kennedy until the final page.

This was fun, but also thoughtful, even though I wished Kennedy‘s parallel lives both had good and bad Points. One life was clearly presented as the ‘worst‘ one. But I read it quickly and enjoyed Kennedy‘s clever voice, but also her swoony love interest and her very adorable younger brother. #preview #rso #septrelease2018🇦🇺 #contemporaryya #digital

This book is what happens when 13 Going On 30 and Freaky Friday have a totally predictable baby. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever read, but if I'm going to spend time with a 30% selfish, 30% obtuse, 20% tunnel focused, 10% superficial and 10% genuinely decent person, I'll watch a dealer's choice episode of The Kardashians. Kennedy is every high school girl you've ever known (add a dash of head trauma).

I loooooved this book. Everyone has those what if moments but for Kennedy it actually came true she got to live out the life she thought she wanted. But it came at a price. I love how it was about her finding herself and not about some guy. Kind of reminds me of sliding doors. I highly recommend this one. 4.5/5 #bookstagram #igreads #yareads #jessicabrody #insomeotherlife #books #shelfie

What can I say other than I loved this book?! I could hardly put it down, & when I did I couldn't wait to get back to it. The story read a bit like Freaky Friday or one of those ones where by some freak accident the parent & child somehow magically swap bodies. Except instead of two totally different people body swapping, in In Some Other Life, the main character swaps with an alternate version of herself. Trippy, right? 😲🤔🤓☺️
