Finding that most of these points do not pertain to me... I guess I had it better than I thought. I was 11 when my mom started drinking. As I write this, my mom and I aren't speaking due to her equaling my obesity to her alcoholism. #notthesame I am not a different person when I eat, AND I have been losing weight and changing for the better. Sad.. said if I want sober holidays that I can only eat veggies and turkey for dinner not cool your the mom

Sad I even need to read this book. I've come to realize I can't change my mother... however I have to learn to move on from true hurt and not let her hurt me any longer..

britt_brooke So many hugs. 💚 My dad was an alcoholic for many years. He's now been sober for just as many, but there were some very difficult times. Hope you're able to find some peace. I know it's hard and I'm so sorry you're going through this. 7y
