My absolute favourite of the sonnets. The honesty makes those last two lines sing.

arlenefinnigan Alan Rickman reading my favourite Shakespeare sonnet was exactly what I needed this afternoon. Thank you. 4y
TheKidUpstairs @arlenefinnigan you're so welcome! I went looking for Patrick Stewart from his Sonnet a Day during lockdown #1, but I found Rickman first and that soothing voice just felt perfect! 4y
Bette My boyfriend read this to me in collage. 🤔🤣 He still reads to me. 😊👍 4y
TheSpineView Great choice! Love this poem! ❤ 4y

#mymistresseyesarenothinglikethesun is one of the most famous ironic poems, mocking the standard metaphors. And it made me think of Litany by Billy Collins. If the print is too small to read, Google it. #seductiveShakespeare @jenniferw88

TheKidUpstairs My favourite sonnet, and I believe the most truly romantic. "Screw all your fancy imagery and metaphor, I am in love with a true, living, breathing woman." I'd never read the Billy Collins so thank you for introducing me to it! 7y
Lcsmcat @TheKidUpstairs You're welcome. I agree with your opinion on the Sonnet. Will S. is a master at the tongue in cheek. 7y
