Too late for love

so-so

This #HorrifiedReads pick wasn't as good as the first one. The writing isn't great & it's SO typical: teenage girls in CA with lots of friends & perfect loving parents. The youngest sister is a boy-crazy flirt; middle sister Cindy is an athletic tomboy; and the oldest is wise & sophisticated. Nothing special or original, but a quick, fun read that reflects the era it was written in. I give it a grudging 2.75/5 because (see comments)

TK-421 I liked that the battle of the sexes surf contest wasn't won by the boy. Cindy refused to back down and in the end, won not only the contest, but the guy, too. 7y

Soubhiville I‘ve gotta get into my last box of books to see if I‘ve got any #horrifiedreads type books left! If not, I‘ll take a trip to McKay‘s used books this weekend and see what I can find 😊. Wonder if the library still has any of these...? 7y

RebL Ack! I helped the kiddo with college stuff all weekend and didn't get to my favorite bookstore to look for my 80s teen romances. I may not enjoy the errand, but I'm going to love the reading. 7y

TK-421 @RestlessFickleBookSlut Thanks! I used to try to post one photo for each challenge every day, but it got to be too much. Now, I just pick & choose prompts and combine them if I can. I'm not sure where to start with the 80s books. Do you have yours picked yet? 7y
