Day 41
#TBRtemptation post 8! In the tradition of Kurt Vonnegut & J.G. Ballard. This is a real-time, 5-hour story set in an airport cocktail lounge during global disaster. 5 people are trapped: Karen, a single mom waiting for an online date; Rick, a down-on-his luck bartender; Luke, a pastor on the run; Rachel, a cool Hitchcock blonde; Player One, a mysterious voice. They each reveal themselves as the world outside falls apart.#blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
While I really enjoyed Player One by Douglas Coupland, initially a CBC Massey Lecture, I have to admit that even having read the book #ThisCoverMakesNoSense. Yes the action is at an airport, but never on a plane. Also, why is the individual on the cover raising their hand as though to ask a question? Is it because the book is subtitled "What is to become of us"? One of his better books, I recommend it to fans of Station Eleven. #ReadJanuary
