Everyone in this story couldn‘t seem to see the elephant in the room. Especially, Amy Kaye...she was most inept of them all. I guessed this in the first 20 minutes or so of listening. What I can‘t figure out is...did everyone else who read this figure it out, too? It seemed super obvious to me. Of course, that‘s if you can suspend belief well enough for this book to work at all.

Yes yes yes! This is full of everything you want in a book!

It pulled me in right from the start. It was full of suspense and kept me guessing with every chapter. The characters were totally relatable and it was so easy to put yourself in Melanie's shoes.

Do yourself a favor and pick up this book immediately. You won't regret it!

Another great mystery from one of my favorite authors. I have read all of Brad Parks' Carter Ross series and loved them all. This is a standalone and does not disappoint. His books are fast paced with interesting characters. Lots of twists and turns and hard to guess who did it. In the end, the culprit makes sense but a bit of a surprise. I look forward to his next book and I would recommend this novel to those who love psychological thrillers.

What a fantastic read! I'm a huge fan of Brad Parks he's never let me down. This novel is one of his best; the whole concept is hard to imagine. His characters are always very well developed, plus he adds a sprinkle of diversity in his novels that you don't see in a lot of mainstream writers. This is a must-read for anyone who loves a good mystery.

Hope to read this one during April.

This book!! So many feelings for the characters that range from “Come on! Figure it out!” to “That sucks, I feel so bad for her” to “What is he thinking?!” to “How does that even happen!?” I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure things out. The ending was a little abrupt after so much uncertainty in the story, but please write more books, Brad Parks!!

I just discovered that author, Brad Parks lives in a nearby city where I used to live, Staunton, VA. Closer Than You Know takes place there and in surrounding Augusta County, so I can‘t wait to read it!
