This is some reeeaaaal Weed Dad horror.
I really want to get through this book and move on, but, like... A man fucked amd then violently turned into a tree? And it was not as interesting as one would hope?

Ohhhh boooooy, so excited for this homophobic stand up comedian to show up in the story...
What do you do when you set a book goal for yourself and fall woefully behind? When I signed up for the Nocturnal Reader's Box I promised myself that I would keep up with the flow of books. I have failed literally every month, the problem of too many books. What does one do in this situation? Renew the vow, start over with the next? Abandon it entirely?
Nah. I think the main character is a version of the author. We‘ve read the same books, listened to the same music and seen the same movies. I get what‘s going on with story. I‘ve been surrounded by men like the main characters since the 80‘s. This is the kind of stuff they talk about when they want to sound cool. This would make a killer short story. As it is, there‘s definitely an audience for this book, it‘s just not me.
