Sangamon Taylor is spreading the word about corporations piping toxic wastes into the water from his 40-horsepower Zodiac raft. Now, he's wanted by the FBI, the Mafia, and a group of Satan-worshipping drug dealers--the least of his problems. Because somewhere out there is an unhinged genetic engineer and a lab concocted bacterium that could destroy all ocean life.

Wow. Very Very sciency so a slow read for me but oh so interesting.

It's the story of an eco activist who, as usual, gets labeled terrorist as he takes on corporate entities who are knowingly polluting the waters in and around Boston.

The real heart-stopping action isn't until the last third or so of the book, but well worth the wait.

Where - Boston harbor

Zodiac? - An inflatable boat

Who - environmentalist Sangamon Taylor, his roommate Bart & a family on an Indian reservation. Great dialog!

ECO thriller

Fast easy fun read! Kept my attention from the start!

Mystery - lobsters with oily dissolving livers, fishermen getting sick, people dying. Where‘s the danger coming from & why‘s someone trying to kill Taylor?

Short book for Stephenson but just what I needed!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

hoooo boy, what a ride! A fast paced eco-thriller with a bunch of great science mixed in. Paranoid in only the way a Neal Stephenson book can be. A terrifically fun read. I read this for #litsyAtoZ and #litsyreadingchallenge both for the Z category. I recommend it if you're still looking for a Z title.

Read if you like Stephenson or environmental fiction. Maybe if you're from Boston too since it is mainly set there. A bit dated now, just in that this pre-dates cell phones and such.
