#doublespin for this month was 5 more short stories in this anthology… I‘m up to more modern stories now and finding them more enjoyable than some of the older stuff!

Fast, flirty, fun! A journalist and an actor reconnect 10 years after their once-famous interview, sparking a second-chance story. Loved the multimedia touches (articles, blogs, interviews) that gave it a modern feel. Flips between past and present to tell their story. Solid romance, creative format, and perfect as an entertaining beach read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 ❤️📚🎧
This was my June #doublespin.
Woah. First, probably the most accurate depiction of librarians and library work ever. Everything else? Kind of a mess. The story goes in all sorts of directions, which is a bit hard to follow at points…. And the art is just not my favorite. #doublespin #bookspinbingo
I am honestly not familiar with the author, but this was a bookclub pick and it was good.
There are a lot of heavy topics- fertility struggles, sexual assault, suicidal thoughts, and racism. But some lighter and beautiful stories as well.
I think we‘ll have a good bookclub discussion.
@TheAromaofBooks this was also my #doublespin book. 🙂📚
3⭐️ Well this book hit me a little different than most. Because I didn‘t hate it, but I didn‘t love it at all. In fact, I wanted to DNF it multiple times, but there wasn‘t a valid reason for me to do it. Because it was a good story I just wasn‘t connecting to it. Took me two weeks to read 350 pages and a 50%. I really questioned myself. It was good but it has been deleted from my Kindle. #69 for #Roll100 and #DoubleSpin for #BookSpinBingo
Mid-August #bookspinbingo checking. 9 books completed, but not the #bookspin or #doublespin just yet
@TheAromaofBooks
I loved this one just as much as I loved the other book in the series. They're so different, how does Cipri manage that? And they're still sort of the same. It's amazing. And I do get the appeal of that one, and why many people prefer “Finna“. Well, I hope that there are going to be more books in the series. Or more anti-capitalist sci-fi novellas by Cipri.

Not what I was expecting but I enjoyed the mystery clues. Some of the backstory was revealed in a bit of a heavy-handed way but it was a nice summer read.
My July #DoubleSpin
Finished books 1 & 2 in the Seaside Cafe Mystery series. Both are on my #readyourebooks list and book 1 is my August #DoubleSpin book.
The NC coast setting adds to its charm for me.
It‘s special when an author can take multiple points of view, combine them with a non-linear timeline and emerge with a cohesive, satisfying, thought-provoking story. Cummins achieves that here with a story of 3 generations of Puerto Rican women struggling to understand their unique identities and learning to care for each other. A richly told story with compelling characters, this story about identity, family, and belonging is not to be missed.
