Pop! The Invention of Bubble Gum by Megan McCarthy is an adorable NF that your students will love! This book follows the story of how the perfect pink double bubble gum came to fruition. I would use this book in a partner read, and they can share the parts they enjoy the most to their partner, enhancing comprehension. #LAE3414sp19

audrey.wilson https://teachingstem.wordpress.com/2014/05/23/pop-the-invention-of-bubble-gum/ This is an AMAZING lesson plan! The students use their new knowledge of bubble gum, blow bubbles, and then use math to find all kinds of fun calculations through a little classroom competition. UDL strategy 8.2, vary demands and resources to optimize challenges, this aligns perfectly with the lesson plan. 6y
audrey.wilson ESOL strategy 22, give enough wait time for second language learners to respond to questions. This strategy is important to remember with all children, and I feel it is important to remember when dealing with NF books. 6y

#UCFWalterslit 'Pop! The Invention of Bubble Gum' by Meghan McCarthy is a non-fiction picture book about how bubble gum was made. I really didn't expect all of the facts in this book to be true, but they are! (Proof: http://www.anb.org/articles/07/07-00839.html) This book is super cute and could be used as a read aloud in a classroom where students are learning about gum, inventors, or even history! I would definitely recommend this book!

jhudson I never knew such a book existed. The title and cover make this book desirable. I'll be reading this for sure. 7y

This is a great NF of how bubble gum was invented. Gum which has been around for centuries, till 1928 when an accountant at a candy store decided to perfect different recipes. This is a good IR, for any student who is interested in NF and bubble gum. #UCFLAE3414F17
