Mehso-so

I have a love/hate relationship with this book. It has excellent advice on finding story ideas, prepping your manuscript, what publishers want, and so on. The things I disliked was its old-fashioned, ableist, transphobic, non-inclusive in general, tone.

That said, I‘m going to keep it so I can refer to the parts of the book that are useful, because I think I can get lots of use out of the exercises Sophie King provides.

Another reason I have been quiet this weekend is this. My partner randomly mentioned one thing he expects to happen in the future, and I am now pouring out words for a dystopian novel. What the?! I've written bits of poetry before but I have never been this inspired.
'I scramble around in the debris of decades, of centuries. This is our history and it is dank, and dark, and dirty.'

Kaylamburson Such a beautiful gift! I feel so much more inspired to write something good in a nice notebook, lol. I can't ruin a beautiful notebook with scribbles lol 6y
laurieluna @Kaylamburson same! This one is in sections though and I have used the other ones for christmas lists, birthdays etc so I'm going to have to get myself a really nice notebook to carry on writing in. It's was the closest thing to hand when the ideas came to me! 6y
