After reading this, we tried using cheap hand-held scopes. I'm sure they were disappointed, but experienced enough practice that their next opportunity will be even better. Giving them background building opportunities!

Ben-Barak, who holds multiple degrees in medical science and microbiology, teamed up with illustrator Julian Frost to bring life to a subject that may be hard for young children to understand. This NF, award-winning (Eve Pownall Information Book Award & CBCA Book of the Year) book encourages students to go on an interactive adventure with Min the microbe, discovering new friends and learning through real-l microscopic images along the way.
This picture book would best be read using the ST method. “Do not lick this book” can tie into a science lesson about germs while also promoting reading skills & comprehension of events through ST. Within this book we go on an adventure with a microbe named “Min”. We travel with her to numerous destinations. While traveling we get to view these destinations really close up & meet some of her microbe friends along the way!
I always seem to find something wonderful for my toddler at our local #littlefreelibrary!
Though I appreciate the extremely magnified pictures of everyday objects, and the idea they get across about how easy it is to pick things up along the way, the interactive experience where they encourage kids to touch the book, put fingers in the mouth and in a belly button- is just kind of nasty. Sorry but pass.
Yeah... I got nuthin... this can't be a thing, can it???
