If you live in Arizona you normally have tamales 🫔 in the Christmas season. This is my first and guarantee not last 🤤#HolidayTradition #WinterGames2021 #TeamGameSleighers @StayCurious @Littlewolf1

Texreader Glad you liked them! They are a must here in San Antonio too! 3y

I did a thing today!!! For the first time ever, very much to my mom and dads delight, I made tamales!

My mom finally sent me her very vague recipe and instructions and with her help was able to get these done. I can‘t wait to dig in.

Curiouser_and_curiouser I wish I knew what a tamale was, but they look yum anyhow 😋 4y
Hooked_on_books When I first looked at this picture, my brain made it into a flower. 😆 4y

Cheshirecat913 Awesome job, I love tamales! 4y
That-Bookish-Hiker @Curiouser_and_curiouser they are a Latin food. Depending on where you come from they are made differently. The ones I made are traditional Mexican tamales. They are made with corn flour, lard, pork with spices wrapped in corn husk. They are delicious! And a Christmas tradition in my family. 4y
That-Bookish-Hiker @Hooked_on_books lol kind of does look like one. A very tasty flower. 🤤 4y
That-Bookish-Hiker @PandaPanda @Jas16 @Amandajoy @Cheshirecat913 thank you! They were easier to make than I thought but they are very time consuming. Totally worth it. Tried some and they taste great! I am pretty proud of myself that I did it AND they taste good. 4y
Curiouser_and_curiouser @That-Bookish-Hiker oh cool! Thanks for sharing the description of your traditional dish. They do sound delicious. Happy Christmas to you 🎄 4y

#MagicalMay Day 7: Fats‘ review: “Meet Ana and Lidia. They are #sisters who are two years apart. Every year at Christmas, it is a tradition in their family to make tamales. Tamales is a dish made of corn dough and steamed in corn husk... This is a tender picture book about two #sisters who are forever bound by love.” Her full review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-kqp

marleed When I moved to San Antonio in 2012, I had to wait before I could move into my apartment because I arrived the weekend of the Tamale Festival. The what, said I!? Tamales, of course. Thanksgiving was over, and massive amounts of tamales are desired going into Christmas. The first of many Mexican traditions I learned and loved. 5y
Eggs Beautifully done 🤗 5y
