Love & War: An Alex & Eliza Story
Love & War: An Alex & Eliza Story | Melissa de la Cruz
The thrilling romance of young Alexander Hamilton and Eliza Schuyler continues in the sizzling sequel to the New York Times bestselling Alex & Eliza: A Love Story 1781. Albany, New York. As the war for American independence rages on, Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler begin their new life as a married couple. Still, Alex is as determined as ever to prove his mettle and secure his legacy . . . even if that means leaving his beloved Eliza behind to join the front lines at the Battle of Yorktown. But when the war unexpectedly arrives on Eliza's doorstep, she must fight for a better future--for their fledgling country and for her marriage. Yet even after the Revolution comes to its historic close, Alex and Eliza's happily-ever-after is threatened. Eliza struggles to build a home in the hustle and bustle of New York City just as Alex's burgeoning law practice brings him up against his greatest rival--the ambitious young lawyer Aaron Burr. And with Alex's star on the rise, Eliza can't help but feel neglected by a husband who seems to have time for everyone but her. Torn apart by new trials and temptations, can Alex and Eliza's epic love survive life in the big city? The battles are just beginning in the sumptuous sequel to Melissa de la Cruz's New York Times bestselling Alex & Eliza: A Love Story.

A Phenomenal Book 2 in this YA Historical Fiction Book by Melissa de la Cruz!! This book really made me love Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton more then i did in Book 1. The Characters are still so entertaining and interesting to read about.

4/5 for the second in this trilogy. I enjoyed this one almost as much as the first. I loved getting to read about Alex and Eliza and the beginning of their life together. I also loved reading about Alex‘s career. I will be continuing this trilogy.

I struggled to finish this after enjoying the first in the series, of course that was right after watching Hamilton...so. However I was struck in the last chapters by a quote that holds true today “I don‘t know how a coy try so divided can manage to stand”...

Another fantastic look into the lives and struggles of Eliza Schuyler and her husband Alexander Hamilton! Part fact part fiction, this historical romance is a must-read for any fan of Hamilton who were charmed by their love story. There are trials (literally) and tribulations, but at the end there is so much love and devotion! And, as always, Cruz proves that behind every great man, there is an even greater woman as Eliza writes her own narrative!

The meeting and courtship of Alexander Hamilton and Eliza Schuyler. Alexander, we all know and Eliza a staunch supporter of those enlisted in the war. Unfortunately, it was as boring as it sounds. With that said, if you are a lover of historical fiction and light romance, this may be just the book for you; it fits the bill for both.I find I need a little more action, tension and sass so it might not be the book‘s fault, but it just was not for me.

Catching Hamilton's America on PBS tonight (pledge drive week) ❤️

Reminds me I need to get back to this series. The first one was cute.

Has anyone had the opportunity to see the play in person?

MaureenMc 🙋‍♀️ It‘s just as phenomenal as you‘ve heard. 😊 6y

Not as good as the first book, but if you wanted to learn a little bit more I would suggest it.
