My July #bookspin (history repeating from 2020) is still a pick. Duels are still absurd.
Evidently I‘m re-reading this…and am the most recent poster (2020). 🤣 And again for BookSpin. (I don‘t consider this cheating)

November #BookSpin accomplished with this 70 page novella. The commentary on the absurdity of duels was amusing. No one really wants to go through with it, but to acknowledge that absurdity and not follow through is unbecoming...thank goodness the duel has yet to make a comeback. 🤞🏼😳🤞🏼
This afternoon I read two dueling novellas, ha ha. Which came out the victor?
The facts are these:
- Both arise from a damaged reputation or perceived slight of a woman.
- Both, oddly enough, involve discussion of or actual amputation of an arm
- Both bring all the DRAMA! 🤣
Because the German‘s tale feels more parable than not and the Italian‘s tale more rational - I dub the Italian the winner of this literary duel 😄
