“Nate slipped the compass into his pocket. He couldn‘t wait to get back to Aunt Phil‘s house and show that stuffy old dodo just how wrong he‘d been.”

I think children would enjoy this book because the main character is a child that is around the same age as them. This allows them to take their imagination to the next level.
Genre: Modern Fantasy
This book is the prequel to the book, “The Basilisk‘s Lair”. When a boy named Nathaniel finds out that his parents are lost at sea, he ends up going to his cousin‘s house to live, which happens to be the world‘s last remaining “beastologist.” When whisked off on an exposition to Arabia, Nathaniel must learn to cope with disaster in order to save his cousin and the mythical creatures from coming extinct.
I love little Greasle the Gremlin! I really can't leave a book unfinished so I'm reading to the end of the ones I didn't finish with the kids on the road trip. This book is sweet and I'm happy to read it through but in a broader sense I need to learn to be able to bail on books. How do people do it? I slog through them even if I hate them.
Enjoying this cute book as a road trip bed time read!
