Dark Game
Dark Game: A gripping crime thriller that will have you hooked! | Rachel Lynch
3 posts | 5 read | 1 reading | 6 to read
Kelly’s gut turned over as she realised the danger she was in. She heard no sirens. She knew that she was simply collateral. To these men who made a lot of money from the suffering of others, they’d have no problem snuffing her out. After a scandal forces DI Kelly Porter out of the Met, she returns to her home turf in the Lake District. Crimes in the Cumbrian constabulary tend to be of the minor sort, but Kelly begins work on a cold case that shocked the local community – the abduction and brutal murder of ten-year-old Lottie Davies. Meanwhile, Kelly is also investigating two seemingly straightforward crimes: a case involving an illegal immigrant, and a robbery following the death of local businessman Colin Day. But evidence comes to light that reveals a web of criminal activity beyond anything Kelly imagined. Behind the veneer of sleepy, touristy towns lies a dark and dangerous underworld. As Kelly threatens to expose those with much to lose, she risks paying the ultimate price to get to the truth... Don’t miss this taut and gripping debut from a crime writer to watch. Perfect for fans for Carol Dwyer, Patricia Gibney and Angela Marsons.

Anyone read this series? Based on the cover and the description this seems like something @Andrew65 and @EadieB would enjoy? Maybe @TrishB @AnneCecilie @Crazeedi @julesG @eanderson @Butterfinger @Marina_h @gradcat as well?

eanderson So I have this on my kindle but haven‘t read it yet. One of the many books I buy intending to read but find something shiny to distract me. Lol! 4y

Tove_Reads @EadieB @Andrew65 Based on the cover it‘s a mix of Frieda Klein, Maeve Kerrigan and Kim Stone... 😱 4y
TrishB I haven‘t heard of this series either! But the first one is 99p on kindle 😱😱 4y
Andrew65 I‘ve not heard of it but the cover pulls me in so need to read it. 🤣 4y
julesG Might be in the same boat as @eanderson. It might be on my Kindle. 🙈 4y
julesG Nope, I don't have the first. It's the third. Not sure why I didn't want to start with the first book in the series. 🙄 4y
julesG @Andrew65 It's the 'generic' thriller cover, dark greyish, the back of a woman in a red coat. Every time I come across this combination my brain tells me "You've read this already." ? 4y
Andrew65 @julesG I‘m a sucker for this type of cover. 4y
Crazeedi I have not read, looks intriguing 4y

Pickpick

This was a really good read. I love these sorts of books especially when the lead is a strong woman. The plot was good with lots of drama to keep me turning the pages desperate to know more. Hoping it's the first in a good series of books.
