RIP, Beverly Cleary...she really was such a genius children's writer.
This entry in the Henry Huggins series was so funny. I loved the kittens. And Ramona is always a high point. I wish I had read all of the Henry books when I was a kid. I think the only reason I didn't was that I was obsessed with Ramona, so I only read those over and over again. I did read a couple of the Henry books, but I still haven't read them all. But I will get there!
Book 5. Revisiting Beezus and Ramona opened a can of worms as it caused me to pick up more Cleary books for #mgmarch. I‘m truly enjoying these rereads and the passage of time has not diminished my love for all things Cleary.

Turning back the time with this childhood favorite. I loved Henry Huggins.
Another great read-aloud. Henry must prove he is responsible enough for a paper route and match wits with Ramona in the process. Henry shows compassion for kittens and makes a new friend in the neighborhood. A sweet read. Meanwhile in my hometown our local family-owned whose slogan is “sustained outrage” has declared bankruptcy and state leg voted to eliminate the dept of arts and ed. See the headline. Sad days. Nostalgic for paper routes.
