Picked up my #Roll100 books from the library today.

(Day 13 - #Rain)
*Scenes from Bellow‘s “Henderson the Rain King”: Henderson‘s trip to Africa has an inauspicious beginning when he attempts to help the village leaders by ridding the cistern of frogs. He is successful at eliminating the frogs, but unfortunately he also rids them of their cistern. Further travels find Henderson in deep philosophical conversation with King Dahfu, who is urged by the elders to find a lion. RIP Dahfu.
About to write my review of this book for my blog so might as well review it on Litsy as well. This is the story of Eugene Henderson, millionaire, who travels to Africa in search of a response to the persistent internal call of “I want.”
This is a good enough premise considering that what he discovers is that he is out of his depth. However, I was so bored by this whole thing. Never figured out why I should care.
Just fourteen more pages to go! I might actually finish this thing today!! #modernlibrarytop100 #catsoflitsy
It‘s a long weekend!!
Hoping to finish at least two in this stack of my four current reads. I especially want to finish the tagged book because it‘s a #modernlibrarytop100 book that I do not care for.
I‘ve had a lot of life stuff getting in the way of reading lately so I‘m itching to read a ton this Easter weekend.
#bedsidetablebooks
Hoping to finish the tagged book soon because I‘m not loving it but it‘s one of my #modernlibrarytop100 books so I feel obligated to finish. Saul Bellow and I just don‘t get along.
I don‘t think I‘ve introduced my new reading buddy yet. Jacques is my brother‘s cat. He is NOT a cuddler, but he will sit close by while I read. #catsoflitsy
#tbrbingo update! The teal squares are books I read in March.
Right now I‘m only one book behind but it may get worse next month when I have a couple of library holds not on this card to read. On the other hand, I‘m way ahead of schedule with #modernlibrarytop100 books, bringing me closer to finally finishing that project!!
My hold on the next #modernlibrarytop100 book FINALLY came in at the library. Hope to start this in a few days.
I wish my dead days would quit bothering me and leave me alone. The bad stuff keeps coming back, and it's the worst rhythm there is. The repetition of a man's bad self, that's the worst suffering that's ever been known.
I won't swear this was my favorite assigned reading over the course of, well, LOTS of courses, but I do remember how fresh it seemed after piles of 18th century triple deckers and far too many poems set in cemeteries 😎 #FunFridayPhoto or is it #FunPhotoFriday? @Liberty
Was looking for another quote from Henderson - but found this one instead. A great book with a character who is likeable and unlikeable in equal measure.
