I Got Two Dogs
I Got Two Dogs: with audio recording | John Lithgow
2 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
John Lithgow sings one of his most popular songs, "I Got Two Dogs," in this e-book edition. The clever rhyming text tells of the narrator's two dogs who could not be more differentone is big, one is small, one barks quietly, while one has a loud and enthusiastic barkbut he loves them both the same. The bold graphic art style adds humor by revealing that the narrator's view of the dogs isn't exactly the way others might see them.

So this happened. As a result, I haven‘t read in 3 days. The little red/brown girl in my lap is our new addition - Hazel Little Thing. She is 2 years old and was an Amish puppy mill dog, surrendered by the puppy mill owner for an unknown reason. These two haven‘t decided yet if they‘re going to be friends. This is the most relaxed they‘ve been this close, so we‘re making progress. She‘s never lived in a home before and she‘s doing amazing!

I Got Two Dogs by John Lithgow and illustrated by Robert Neubecker is a poetry biography picture book about John Lithgow‘s two dogs Fanny and Blue. The book is about the tail (haha get it) of two dogs and all the stuff they get into and how much he loves them both! This book would be fun to do literacy centers with it for learning poetry! https://www.kindergartenworks.com/common-core-standards/po-et-tree/

Gabylaurel10 This book can line up with UDL principle 1.1 because you can also listen to this book in a YouTube read aloud with the author or on CD as a song! This picture book also lines up with the ESOL strategy 14 with speaking slowly! #UCFLAE3414SuB18 6y
ATejada I think this would be such a great book and the YouTube video of the read aloud would really engage your students! This is definitely added to my stack! Thanks for sharing! 6y
DrSpalding Knowing you have the YouTube version, this could be a great literacy station for children to follow along while it is read to them. 6y
