Robert Reich on Twitter today.I have to agree.
This little book (fewer than 200 pages) describes how society has fallen away from the common good in the last few decades and suggests ways to recover. I don‘t know if our society can recover, or if things have gone too far, but if everyone would read this book and think about what it says there might be hope. Well worth the time to read.
My mom was a high school social studies and civics teacher so this little book didn‘t say anything new to me. It gave me a little hope that we can function as Americans.
Presented thoughtfully and eloquently, with even the little jabs at certain political figures devoid of malice, this is a little book that packs a big punch. What does it mean to work for the common good? Is the common good even feasible in these divisive times? Reich says, unequivocally, yes. It will take work and dedication, but yes. We just have to do our parts. Little by little, snowflakes can become a blizzard. #thecommongood #robertbreich
I can think of so many people who could benefit from reading this little book. #thecommongood #robertbreich
Diving right into this one, because it‘s due tomorrow and I‘ve already renewed it waaaay past the usual limit. 😂 #thecommongood #robertbreich
Is anybody else reading this little (amazing) book on citizenship by Robert B. Reich? I highly recommend it!!
