I've always tried to live my life by these words.
Interesting. This book came out in 2012, but I recently acquired what was an advanced copy of it back then. And apparently, by the time it was published, they changed the title.
A different kind of #ThrowbackThursday #TBT my photo from Litsy about 3 months ago.... the question was how many could I finish in 2016 (well technically it's Jan 2017, but close enough). The answer: 21.5 out of 63. LOL 😂😂. So a third~ish.
Guess that means the rest are for this year!
See @BookishFeminist the answer is Yes, I must actually have just been zooming out!
"Scientists have found that approximately 25 percent of the human population is comprised of assholes; 25 percent, idiots; 25 percent, idiotic assholes; and 25 percent, people who are smart or nice or both."
⬆️I don't know where the study is proving this as a fact, but it feels like it has the right level of "truthiness" to me.... plus I should add that of those last 25% the majority have found Litsy or need to be introduced to it soon! ?
This part, and a few others like it, cracked me up when I read this. I think we've all run into this person somewhere at sometime or another.
Sad, scary....and yet, I guess, we should be proud.
Insiders' stories from the truth seekers/dirt diggers, who do the actual leg work of digging up the facts, supported with actual documentation, in the labyrinth of gov't offices armed only with the public info act. Often reads like some noir PI on the trail of the evidence that will spring the case wide open... after dodging disgruntled record's clerks, surviving reading mind-numbing minutia for hours, and occasionally evading an unknown tail. 👍
#TBRTuesday To-Be-Read Tuesday? More like, how many of these can I finish in 2016 yet?
So many choices so little time!

*** I have to agree with that, and it's very frustrating for us linear, fact loving, reading people.
of what you think of him, correctly characterized as part of “a network of misinformation that in a new media era can get churned out there constantly.” Our primary aim (...) is to help guide the political debate through the real, documented world, where talking points are derived from actual facts rather than from voices emanating from a planet far, far away. (...) our work is utterly dependent on locating the documentation."
?documentable facts
Dirt digging and truth telling...
...I just stared at her. All I was asking for were some straightforward tax documents, public records deposited in her office for anyone—for all—to see.
“I mean, what are you going to do with it?”
“It doesn‘t really matter, does it?” I said. Because it didn‘t, and she knew it. This is America. What we were looking for is part of the public record, and why we wanted it was nobody‘s business but our own."
**Sounds like an interesting beginning
