The Seventh Witch
The Seventh Witch | Shirley Damsgaard
3 posts | 3 read | 2 to read
A Golden Broomstick to [these] most unusual sleuths, a septuagenarian witch and her psychic granddaughter. Carolyn Hart The Seventh Witch is the seventh installment in Shirley Damsgaards Agatha Award-nominated Ophelia and Abby series featuring a small-town librarian with paranormal abilities and her endearingly unapologetic witch grandmother. Combining the best aspects of mystery and fantasya sort-of Miss Marple with magicDamsgaards The Seventh Witch is a whodunit with a difference; a delightful diversion for anyone who loves the supernatural charm of Charlaine Harriss Sookie Stackhouse novels or Kim Harrisons bestselling excursions to The Hollows.

Finished the last book in this series and I‘m SO sad about it! It had everything: librarian witches, mediums, cute undercover DEA agents, takes place in my home state of Iowa...just awesome.

CocoReads 👏👏👏 I started that series a few years ago but I think I only got thru the first 7 or so. I may need to dive in again. 4y

Finished the Abby and Ophelia series and WOW I was impressed. They‘re less urban fantasy than cosy mysteries, with magic. Not fireballs and levitations I normally like, but rune casting and ley lines and crystals and herb poultices. I really cared for the characters and each story was compelling (maybe a bit rushed in parts) and the series ended on a high. It was as harmless and gentle and cosy as a pot of peppermint tea. Loved it.
