3/150 I don't usually read Afterwords first, but I feel if I'd read Sandra Miesel's The Price of Buying Time before the novel, I'd have a better understand of Dominic Flandry and Anderson's Future History stories, including the Polesotechnic League and the Technic civilization. I still enjoyed the adventure story, but I think it would have been more substantial with more background knowledge.
