Thank you @dabbe for the #TLT tag! 🤗

Hard to narrow it to three, but…

1️⃣ The tagged book-love & grief in the life of a teenage girl in 1987. If you haven‘t read it, you must. 💙

2️⃣ Little Women -it‘s a classic & my first bildungsroman love. 💚

3️⃣ Never Let Me Go-I find people either love or really dislike this one, but it‘s love for me. Bleak, dystopian coming of age.🩶

Who else wants to share their three? Consider yourself tagged! 🤗

dabbe I'm making a list, and checking it twice; gonna share with everyone whether they're naughty or nice! Thanks for sharing. 💚💙💚 2w

#BookMail is the best mail! Lydia Davis decided that her new collection of short stories would not be available on the A word. a bookshop.org published title, their proceeds share with an independent bookstore you have selected, or indies in general. Bought Trust too. On & off about it ,finally decided yes ! Add it to #TBRMountain

Pickpick

Oh my God, I finished a book! One of the downsides of writing is never having time to read anything but your own stupid manuscript, and one of the great joys of finishing a first draft is setting it aside and focusing on someone else's words for a change. Published (and set) during the middle of Russia's shadow war in eastern Ukraine, the story follows a beekeeper and resident of Donbas turned nomad as he searches for peace and tranquility.

The_Penniless_Author This reminded me of The Seventh Seal in a way, the MC managing to eke out small moments of happiness in the solitude of the countryside before war and misery manage to find him again. Very much a slow-burn, world-building kind of novel that paints a very effective picture of what war means to people's day-to-day lives. Also, weirdly prescient dream sequence the MC and friend are celebrating the end of "the Future War" 14mo

“Just after lunch,on 1 May 1956, the tolling of the treble bell of St Mary‘s church summoned Oxford University‘s dons to the Old Bodleian Library,a site of male learning and clerical endeavor for four centuries, now, suddenly and inexplicably, said to be under threat from ‘the women‘.”
Yes , I‘m down! Up on #TBRmountain it goes!😂Wait , I thought I was on to do a bookcase purge….

LeahBergen This sounds good! 1y
Leftcoastzen @LeahBergen yes , I did read the introduction, but I need to finish some other things first. 1y
