Rosie's Walk
Rosie's Walk: with audio recording | Pat Hutchins
15 posts | 14 read | 1 to read
The Fox is after Rosie, but Rosie doesn't know it. Unwittingly, she leads him into one disaster after the other, each funnier than the last. To enjoy Rosie's walk as much as Rosie does, just look inside!

This is a very cute story about a hen. The colors are warm and inviting, and the patterns add an extra element to the story.

This book tells the story of Rosie‘s walk across the farm. Unknowingly escaping the fox‘s grasp around every corner. Even if there were no words, you could still tell exactly what happens in the story through the bright and colorful pictures provided.

I loved reading this to my kids when they were tiny! My middle, Dane, would giggle every time the fox got into a mess! This book encourages parents and kids to talk about the action of the story beyond what the narration is giving you! ❤️❤️❤️ 14/1,001 #1001ChildrensBooks

Texreader You are clearly a great mom sharing all these books with the kiddos!!! ❤️❤️❤️ 6y
AshleyHoss820 @Texreader Oh, thank you!! I‘m a firm believer in reading with your kids. When they were small, we‘d have a HUGE stack of books and we‘d read until they were asleep. This is nice because we get to revisit that time together! 😊😊😊 6y

The picture book shows a chicken on her morning walk and how she eludes danger at every corner. It shows that we might not know it but danger could always be right behind us, even when we seem the most peaceful.

“Rosie the hen went for a walk.” This quote creates the setting and plot of the story.

I loved the contrast and use of coloring in this story. The black and white contrasting against the reds, yellows, oranges, and greens creates a very bright and bold appearance.

When looking at a different point of view from both the fox and hen, it really puts the story together. It is intriguing for children because they can see the hen being unaware of the fox filling her and it creates suspense and excitement.

This would be a good “any-time” book to read to my future class. It would be a good way to show students how important illustrations can be to a book.

Genre: Picture Book
This book was short but was very cute. I like how the illustrations tell part of the story that I not told in the text. Without the pictures, half of the story would be missing.

I don‘t think this was my first book, but it is the first book I remember loving! Rosie‘s Walk doesn‘t have many words so the librarian at the public library made up her own story to read out loud with the illustrations and it was so interesting! Imagine my surprise when my mom didn‘t read it the same way!! Nevertheless I loved this book and borrowed it from the library many times! #myfirstbook

sisilia Definitely unforgettable with an experience like that 😁👍🏻 6y
