Scott states that there are books on style, organization, etc. yet nothing really puts them all together. She boldly asserts that this is the book! Inspired by her French friends as well as a stint living in Paris, she brings tips of elegance to the drudgery of everyday life. I was surprised there was so much detail on managing children. Her main message is to savor simple pleasures throughout the day and create a sense of luxury for the mundane.
I learned that "elevenses" is essentially a simpler alternative to brunch. ?☕

Jennifer L. Scott is a lovely human being. I adored Lessons From Madame Chic, and I'm so glad I picked up the sequel. This book had so many little insights into how to make your house a home and take delight in the time you spend there...even in the "mundane" daily tasks. I love her writing style. Her personality flies off the page! She is the definition of "chic" and "je ne sais quoi".
