I‘m not exactly sure what happened, what was true and what was fantasy, or what to think about any of it. I do know that I enjoyed the unusual style and brilliant writing in this book, was mesmerized by the mystery and weirdness of it all, and I am low-key in love with Adam Walker, despite his moral failings and icky decisions.
But... if you are looking for a nice, easy story with no triggers, keep scrolling. 😳

On the one hand, this book was riveting and compelling. I raced through. On the other hand, it was jarring and a little experimental and didn‘t quite come together plot-wise for me. But I am definitely glad I read it and am interested in reading another from Auster.

This book was odd. I thought it was something different than it ended up being in just about each section. There were some "Holy WTF!l moments. I'll be thinking about this one for some time to come. The ending was weird. While I'm torn between Pick and So-So, I was interested throughout and not disappointed by the weird ending. It had me rethinking the entire book.
This is a quick read to me. I finished the first two sections. All I kept thinking was "WTF???!?!!?!!" There is some messed up stuff in this book. Let's see what the second half brings.
Boo for laundry. Yeah! for reading in between loads. I've had this book on my shelf for years. The blurb on the back about "sudden, shocking act of violence" having to do with a love triangle caught my attention. I'm hoping this is a wild ride.
Have had this and a nice Syrah shelved for a little while now...think it's time to crack 'em both open
