The Gravity of Us
The Gravity of Us | Brittainy C. Cherry
10 posts | 10 read | 9 to read
Graham Russell and I weren't made for one another.I was driven by emotion; he was apathetic. I dreamed while he lived in nightmares. I cried when he had no tears to shed.Despite his frozen heart and my readiness to run, we sometimes shared seconds. Seconds when our eyes locked and we saw each other's secrets. Seconds when his lips tasted my fears, and I breathed in his pains. Seconds when we both imagined what it would be like to love one another. Those seconds left us floating, but when reality knocked us sideways, gravity forced us to descend.Graham Russell wasn't a man who knew how to love, and I wasn't a woman who knew how to either. Yet if I had the chance to fall again, I'd fall with him forever.Even if we were destined to crash against solid ground.

After a slow start this one really got to me. Great story and even greater characters that are complex, especially Graham. This one touched me. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Hadn‘t read anything by Cherry before, but based on this one, I‘ll definitely be reading more. The story of Lucy and Graham seemed impossible and doomed, with all the odds stacked against them. You wanted to cry, cheer, weep, and beg for them to have some small measure of happiness together. Not a light and fluffy romance, but one that‘ll keep you on the edge of your seat, hoping and wondering.

Graham was a new and different character for me to encounter. His story was heartbreaking and hopefully and beautiful.

The hardest part of life was watching a loved one walk straight into fire when all you could do was sit and watch them as they burned.

Love. The emotion that made people both soar and crash. The feeling that lit humans up and burned their hearts. The beginning and ending of every journey.

Guys, this book! It did not go the way I expected from the blurb and I am so grateful for that. It is no where near as dark as it sounds like it will be. A nice read of two people vastly different from each other falling slowly in love. It is beautifully built and done.

Loved The Gravity of Us! It‘s been awhile since I read a book with such strong character growth over a period of time that seems normal. Made me tear up a few times too, not everyone is nice. (Screw‘em)

Some lunchtime reading!

I got this book from a Secret Santa I did last Christmas through Twitter. I don‘t know anything about it, but my person said we had similar tastes and she loved it so I‘m sure it‘ll be awesome!
