Bailedbailed

I had to DNF this. I only made it about 10% through the audiobook. I was warned it was a lot, so I‘m not disappointed in myself. I think what made me stop, besides the copious sexual assault, is the treatment of all the female characters. If they aren‘t Skye or her sister, they are horrible people. Just too much nope. I‘m not rating the book as I did not read that much. Sadly it was 2 #bookspinbingo slots.

Pickpick

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟More of a historical #epicsaga then #romantsy. Set circa 1540-1565, the story spans Ireland to Algiers to England. The fictional Skye O‘Malley & her adventures are set among historically accurate portrayals of real people. Skye is a strong heroine along the lines of Scarlett O‘Hara. Trigger warnings apply for sexual assault and abuse.

KarmonR I think it has been decades since I‘ve read something by Beatrice Small. 7y

My romance education continues...trying some Old Skool CrazySauce. I do love this cover...and am fascinated by the historical figure this series is (ever-so-loosely) based on.
