“Thou hast no clothes and shoes, and yet wouldst dance!”
I wouldn‘t use this book in the classroom as it‘s rather dark and not appropriate for children. I would choose to use more child friendly version.

I love this book the illustrations are so good and I love the darker storyline. Again, I would not have these in my classroom.

Enjoyable version of the fairy tale reimagining with nice musical numbers
Jeannine, you made me tear up this morning! I received this random envelope from Amazon and had no clue why. My best guess was that it was part of #BlackHistoryswap for today so I put it away. You cannot believe my surprise when I saw what it was and why it was sent! I a million times love this gift! You certainly did not have to do it because your #HEAS box was perfect but I am so glad you did because this is a little piece of magic. 💜💜💜
Christmas time 🎄🎅⛄️🎁 = Time for fairy tales 🧙♀️🧝♀️🧚♀️🧞♀️🧜♀️
So, I watched Cinerella (the ballet) the other day. Was an interesting production by the Paris Opera in 2018. The evil stepmother was danced by a man, so was the fairy godmother, and the whole story was set in movie studios.

“There they go, there they go!
There is blood on her shoe;
The shoe is too small,
Not the right bride at all!“
I loved the disney version when I was a kid, but I think if I would have heard this version as a child I might've been a little scared! I think that most fairy tales are pretty dark overall, but I think for the most part they tend to act like really good cautionary tales!
This traditional fairytale tells the original (much darker) version of Cinderella. In this version stepsister's are cutting off toes! I loved the Disney version of Cinderella as a kid, and it was interesting to see what the story was based on. I think that this story is a little dark for children, so I would probably prefer to put the sugarcoated Disney version out. However, I still think this is a good story!
