Read for a faculty book club that I won't actually be able to attend now due to a doctor's appointment - oh well, at least it was a quick read! I got what the author was attempting to do with the themes of connection, but I don't think it was executed very well, mostly because I forgot who was who with all the jumps in point of view.

I devoured this short novel about how a seemingly diverse group of people past and present are connected. The language is incredible- so much emotion packed into each sentence, every word has a purpose. So very glad my mom sent it along.

Toller treffender Titel: Leben, Dinge, Entwicklungen und Personen sind (unsichtbar) miteinander verbunden. Kein neuer Kunstgriff, aber packend und wunderbar unprätentiös umgesetzt. Durch die verschiedenen Sprecher erhält die Geschichte mehr Tiefe und Authentizität, die Handelnden sind gut unterscheidbar.
Hätte ich das Buch gelesen, hätte ich mehr von der schönen, poetischen Sprache als Zitat(e) mit euch geteilt. Große Lese-/Hörempfehlung❣️?❤️

Tja, hier kam mir beim letzten Mal doch irgendwie das geschriebene Wort dazwischen und so kam es, dass „plötzlich“ die Leihfrist abgelaufen war. ?

Nun gut, fange ich halt noch mal von vorne an.

Wie, es ist zu dunkel zum Lesen und*) ich will mir kein Licht anmachen, weil alle Fenster und Türen offen sind und ich keine Motten und sonstigen Insekten anlocken will – erst recht keine, die Blut saugen❓

Na gut, dann eben das nächste Hörbuch. ??‍♀️? ▶️ 4 Stunden, 4 Minuten.

Das Hörbuch ?? ist gerade auf meinem Merkzettel gelandet, weil ich „Mit jedem Jahr“ noch hier liegen habe. Neu und eingeschweißt. ?

Außerdem klingt die Lesung so vielversprechend. Sechs (❣️) verschiedenene Sprecher|innen. Das wird toll. ? Bestimmt. Und ja, wenn‘s richtig gemacht bzw. präsentiert ist, kann man mich auch mit Zweite-Weltkriegs-Geschichten noch locken.

I started this book in 2017 and finished it in 2018. I like the concept but was hoping for more of a story. i was only interested in a couple of the characters and would have liked to learn more about them. I almost bailed but I am glad I finished!! #frommymomsTBR

Unusual arrangement but satisfying. Sometimes I was confused with the many characters and the intricate ways in which they were connected.

The writing style of this book took a little getting used to, but once I got into it, I really enjoyed it.

It took me longer than I wanted to finish this book but returning to these characters was exciting each time. If I had to pick a con for this book it'd be i wanted more. The story is interwoven through many different characters but still remains simple.

Easily one of the most beautiful books I've ever read. It flits between characters and storylines but you're never left feeling lost or abandoned. Filled with spectacular nuggets of truth about life that will leave you with highlighter stains on your fingers.
