I've read this a few times but this time, it just wasn't working for me. Maybe it was the narrator as I took out the audio book rather than the audioplay that is available? I love the story but I'm not feeling it... 🤷‍♀️

MidnightBookGirl Do you ever speed up the playback? I usually listen at a higher speed (2x or above) and it usually makes the story seem like it's fast paced (I call it the Gilmore Girl effect). It also livens up a slow performance, but I recommend only going up to 1.25x or 1.5x until you get used to the faster speeds (and it's not for everyone!). 3y
IamIamIam @MidnightBookGirl Typically, I do about 1.5x but this narrator keeps doing weird voices for various characters and it's just really hard to listen to. I had it at 1.25x and that was most manageable but I don't think I'm in a fantasy mood. I'm also cheesed that I had to put a hold on this, which I'd rather have listened to 🤣 3y

Pickpick

Read this years ago, one of the first fantasy books I ever read. Good times!
