A very interesting premise. However, Trump wasn't enough of a whiny little bitch for this to be realistic.

Got this in the mail today. Looks pretty amazing and unique. Can‘t wait to read it 👍🏼
In March 2020, hostilities boil over, leading to a nuclear attack on the US by North Korea. This novel is written as though it is the report of those events. It is slow to start (I nearly bailed), then picks up and tells a story so chilling because it is all too conceivable. It feels so real. I need to go do something happy now.
Terrifying account of a (fake) nuclear war with North Korea. Of course, now I‘ll probably have a nightmare about it. Jeffrey Lewis is a well known expert on this topic, and brings authenticity to this speculative fiction. Worth reading when emotionally ready for the frightening ride.
For fans of stories like One Second After, this is definitely the book for you. The story is engaging, entertaining, and a little bit terrifying. Dr. Lewis seems to be a pretty knowledgeable guy about the possibility of a nuclear conflict. The book focuses more on the build up of the conflict than the aftermath which makes the whole thing more frightening.
Y‘all, I‘m seriously enjoying this book. I‘m a little past the halfway mark. The book is set up as a commission report that starts with a S. Korean airplane being shot down. Bad decisions, coincidences, and misunderstandings take place and nuclear war starts. This isn‘t a book for Trump supporters because he‘s shown in a particularly poor light. The pacing and story so far are great. It feels realistic. I love this speculative fiction sub genre.
I‘m going to be a little busy this month with a move (and I‘ve packed most of my books already) so my August #TBR list is pretty much limited to this single book. I still have my Kindle out so I‘ll probably get around to my backlog on there.
Plus I‘ll have a bunch of sexy bookshelf pictures after the move!
