The story revolves around Elena and Nicholas, who meet while they are both dealing with their own grief. Elena has lost her mother and Nicholas, his wife. But what really happened to Amelia? Told in 3 parts, each at a different point in time and with multiple POVs. Though over 360 pages, it was a quick and easy read. Several twists and turns. The domestic violence scenes can make it difficult (and frustrating) at at times.
10-9-20: My 81st finished book of 2020! This one was hard to get through because the subject matter was infuriating. I‘m struggling with my current NF read, so I‘m opening this one up.
pickA frightening descent into the world of violence and abuse at the hands of the one who is supposed to love and protect you. I had guessed part of the story before the big twist but this book held me in its thrall. Page by page I was drawn in to the dual narratives of Amelia and Elena as their stories unfolded. A great book which I read in one day. #NetGalley
