This began with a great start but then was slow moving as we go through a woman‘s brain post car wreck. The entire book felt slow and was very anti climactic. Abbie is a surgeon but yet she comes across as flighty over and over. A book from Paula or Alan‘s point of view might‘ve been better, but I can‘t say I‘d read it for fear of how slow moving it might also be. Book #60 in 2022

This was a pick for me - but not so much for the other ladies in the Guelph #GirlyBookClub. I found it very emotional in the beginning and quite a compelling story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 I liked this. Didn‘t love it. I enjoy the way she writes, it had nice elements to it, and it kept me intrigued (read this in one sitting this evening). That being said, it felt a little bit lacking overall. Not enough story for me.

A surgeon's life totally changes after a car accident on a cold drive back home from having lunch with her mother.

This was my first read from Julianne MacLean that I read for Girly Book Club. Her writing is moving. Even though this was an easy read, there were moments that I had to stop and collect my thoughts. She really makes you think what would you do if you were in the same situation. I look forward to reading more from her.

While this book was an easy read and I enjoyed the characters and the authors writing style, when I finished, I felt like it was “just a story”. The only twist was right in the beginning. I kept waiting for it to go somewhere. It would be a good read for someone looking to identify with another who has experienced grief and disloyalty.

This is the first book by this author I‘ve read, I‘ve been under a rock it seems. Abbie is leaving her mom‘s home from their ritual Sunday dinner when her SUV is clipped by a drunk driver. This one instant turns her life inside out. She not badly hurt physically but she‘s destroyed when she learns more about the driver who hit her. This book is full of emotion and really well done. I hope this becomes another series, I wasn‘t ready for it to end.

Abbie was living a seemingly perfect life as a surgeon, wife, mom and daughter. As fate would have it, Abbie‘s life hits a major curve in the road. While driving home one night, she is involved in a horrific accident as she is hit by a drunk driver. As her car plunges, out of control, down a ravine, her perfect life begins to fracture. Devastating secrets are uncovered as Abby heals. Joy wins over bitterness. A well crafted story!
