PurpleTulipGirl I finished in December 2001, but we didn‘t have a winter commencement then, so I walked in May 2002. She talked about the struggle of keeping up with the reading when she was an undergrad English major, and occasionally buying Cliffs Notes for stuff. She joked that she knew she made it as an author when “Joy Luck Club” got Cliffs Notes. 4y

They are members of the Rock Bottom Remainders along with Greg Iles, Mitch Albom, Scott Turow, Alan Zeiebel, Roy Blount Jr., Mary Karr, and Dave and Sam Barry. They were at First Avenue in Minneapolis to open our first ever Word Play Book Festival. 6y
