The Illuminator | 
I‘m making my way through this book slowly... I really enjoy the time period, the subject matter, and the writing style, but it‘s been slow-going. I usually read one book at a time (or at the most, one fiction and one non-fiction) but this book‘s got me reading multiple other books at the same time, just to make sure I keep reading!
Update: finally finished this one! Enjoyed the atmospheric writing, the deep research, and strong characters.
