Sweep | Louise Greig

Beautiful book. Gorgeous illustrations. Ed is in a bad mood and just keeps sweeping with his anger. The pile keeps getting bigger and bigger. Will Ed ever stop sweeping? Hm... I guess you need to read it to find out! Just a sweet story.

This is a compilation of the 4 books written about this little family. The art is just so beautiful, and it looks like a picture frame in its decore. #ISpyBingoSept @TheAromaofBooks

I have previously used this book in my kindergarten classroom as an interactive read aloud, followed along by a comprehension extension activity.

I love this story line. It is an inspirational story line about the effects of one small thing and the big outcomes it‘ll lead to.

No time to read this weekend as we had first Thanksgiving with one grown kids‘ family on Thursday (bottom pic) and with another today (top.) Lots of cooking, lots of fun, and my fridge is stuffed with leftovers. I won‘t have to cook for a week!

Below is a link to the results of the sorta-weird-but-hopefully-fun Thanksgiving This or That survey from yesterday. I tagged all people who commented. For example, who knew that almost 60% of you would rather eat turkey every day for the rest of your life instead of giving up potatoes? This is important information, people! 🤩😂🤩

Deblovestoread I tried the link…says I need permission 😁 6mo
dabbe @Deblovestoread Thanks for being my tester! I just fixed it! 😘 6mo
Amiable While I enjoy a mashed or French-fried potato here or there, I actually answered “A” because I love turkey! 😄 6mo

dabbe @Amiable I don't think there is any better sandwich on earth than real turkey + whatever fixin's you want. I probably could eat one of those every day. 🤩😂🤗 6mo
Karisimo I could easily give up potatoes-that was an easy choice for me even though I like turkey! But I am surprised to be in the minority! (edited) 6mo

PurpleyPumpkin As a vegetarian, these were hard choices for me! I couldn‘t give up potatoes but eat turkey daily?😵‍💫 6mo
dabbe @PurpleyPumpkin Sorry about that! I think there probably were a few too many turkey choices! 💙❄️💙 6mo
PurpleyPumpkin Oh gosh, no apologies necessary. You made me really consider the choices!👍🏽 6mo

The Madman of Bergerac | Georges Simenon
post image

Starting my 1st Simenon ever, The Madman of Bergerac, as part of my 2024 Dordogne challenge. And since today (Nov, 29) is the day of juniper in the French revolutionary calendar, I am having juniper tea. I don't know why this berry is so underused these days: it's lovely and so fragrant!

Dilara @kspenmoll Thanks! 😁 6mo
Bookwomble This was my first Simenon, also, and I read 5 years ago I see from my Litsy post! ⌛🪰🪰😱 It was the beginning of a major book crush for me. Maigret is one of my favourite series now, and one of my favourite literary characters. I hope you take to him, too 😊 6mo
Dilara @Bookwomble Ah clearly, I didn't take to him as much as you did 😁 😊I don't think I'll read any more of his books, but I'm glad I have one under my belt! 6mo
Bookwomble @Dilara It took me a few novels to really catch Maigret's character, but I did have that bit of a hook in me already, so totally understandable if you're not feeling it 😊 6mo
