Pumpkinheads | Rainbow Rowell

Got my copy of pumpkinheads 😄, hiding it away from my kids, as it's a graphic novel, & am not sure if it's age appropriate for them. Will start it soon. 🤩

Okay, so I wasn't really sure if I should get this book but after seeing so many posts about it, I caved. #Pumpkinheads was my first #graphicnovel, actually, and I adored it! The story is sweet and adorable and the art is just gorgeous. 💚 It was a perfect October read. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Also, I really want to visit a pumpkin patch – and I don't even like pumpkins! (Unless they're used as decoration 🎃)

This adorable RF PB titled “Pumpkin Pumpkin“ written and illustrated by Jeanne Titherington is a great RA book for your PreK-2nd grade students. Jamie plants a pumpkin seed and watches it grow, grow, and grow. Jamie is able to learn about all of the different stages that the pumpkin seed goes through to turn into a big, orange pumpkin! #UCFLAE3414F19

Camrynm The EL strategy I would use with this PB would be 4: Link lesson topic to students‘ prior knowledge. See what the students know about pumpkins and their stages of growth before reading. The UDL principle I would use would be 1.1: Offer ways of customizing the display of information. Students can draw their own images of the different stages of the pumpkin seed. 3d
Camrynm Here is an activity that students can do in the classroom that can enhance their learning on pumpkin seeds: https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/pumpkin-pumpki... 3d

After several heavy reads this was a nice change of pace. Light, fun storyline that I really enjoyed.

1. Nalini Singh's Kiss of Snow — I've finally reached Sienna and Hawke's story in my binge reading!

2. "Take some of this time to think, Sienna, figure out where you're heading."

3. Iced pomegranate white tea, my current favorite ❤️

Loved it. Perfect Halloween reading for me: low stakes, no horror, plenty of humour. Brilliant.

My first finish of #mrbook1inamillion #litsypartyofone and #24b4monday. This is a total #blameitonlitsy and am I ever thankful. I adored the story of Deja and Josiah on their last night at the Pumpkin Patch. This was also my introduction to Rainbow Rowell, and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

Andrew65 Well done! 👏👏👏 5d
