Mehso-so

A 2003 anthology on the topic of public humiliations experienced by authors and poets while being authors and poets. Essays by Margaret Atwood, Chuck Palahniuk, and Alan Werner are among my favorites. Read what interests you; skip the rest, because not all of these essays are particularly good or particularly inoffensive.

Vivlio_Gnosi I'm mortified by the amount of snow where you're at! =-O 6y
Vivlio_Gnosi However, those gloves are quite stylish. 6y
RaimeyGallant @Vivlio_Gnosi I was just talking about how much snow we have! The mittens are homemade from the grandmother of an old boyfriend. I miss her. :) 6y
Vivlio_Gnosi Too much snow!! (Personally, I hate the cold) 6y
Vivlio_Gnosi Awww, that's super cool! 6y

An author's story of mortification: "Killing time in the precinct, I find a copy of one of my early volumes in a dump-bin on the pavement outside the charity shop. The price is ten pence. It is a signed copy. Under the signature, in my own handwriting, are the words. 'To mum and dad'." ~Simon Armitage ?
