I‘ve been reading a lot of memoir lately and decided to put all of my recommendations together on my blog during the month of July for a Month of Memoirs! If you like them as much as I do, I hope you‘ll follow along.

Blaire I‘ll be following along! I always like memoirs as audiobooks. 5y

Oh dear, I had to restrain myself from adding too many of these to my ever-growing TBR!

Emilymdxn Omg how have I only read five? I want to read all of them! With the possible exception of Martin Amis (for whom life is just too short) I think I want to read every one 6y
Hooked_on_books @Emilymdxn Yes, I think the NY Times reviewers outdid themselves with this one! 6y
ValerieAndBooks Thanks for sharing the link! I‘ve saved it to go back to again. I‘ve read only 8 from the list ; I‘ve already seen discussions about a few others. 6y

Lara: a memoir in verse about growing up in London as part of a mixed family in the 1960‘s and ‘70‘s. Complex, difficult, and inspiring.

Losing My Cool: how literature and hip hop culture shaped his childhood and helped him bond with his dad. How we present ourselves to the outside world, versus who we are at home.

Two very different but interesting reads about family, culture, growing up, and finding yourself.

Cruising through the summer and in need of a month of holidays? Me, too!

I‘m making my own August carnival – the month of memoirs. I‘m posting mini-reviews of memoirs all month long on my blog and I‘ll share them here, too!!
#monthofmemoir

All month long, I will be posting memoir reviews and recommendations. And, lots of them!!

First up, a memoir by a reader for readers (and books). Come back tomorrow to read all about it!
